ST. PAUL, Minn. – (Dec. 8, 2016) – It’s open enrollment time for many health care plans, including plans through MNsure.
For your coverage to start on Jan. 1, 2017, you must enroll no later than Dec. 15. The fee for not having health insurance is at least $695 dollars per adult and $347.50 dollars per child. At the end of November, 30,148 Minnesotans had enrolled in private health insurance through MNsure, and 26,863 people were deemed eligible for either MinnesotaCare or Medical Assistance.
Wait times also appear to be short. MNsure recently reported the wait time to speak to someone at the call center was only eight seconds.
