BLAINE, Minn. – (May 18, 2018) – The National Sports Center in Blaine will hold a night of free activities for families on Friday, June 1. The open house gives families a chance to try out the NSC’s facilities, learn about its programs and have fun. The night will end with an outdoor showing of “Wonder” at 9 p.m.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 11 p.m., Victory Links Golf Course will offer free green fees, cart fees, driving range balls and putting course rounds. Also, the NSC’s fields will be available for soccer, kickball, football, lacrosse, volleyball, yard games and more. All ages, genders and skill levels are welcome.
The recently renovated Sport Expo Center will be on display with open volleyball and basketball games taking place on the brand-new hardwood floors from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Additionally, the Schwan Super Rink will be available for free public skate from 6:10 p.m. to 8:10 p.m. Guests can bring their own skates or use some provided, but selection is limited.
“This event provides us with an opportunity to showcase all of our facilities to the local community,” Head Golf Professional Tom Kirkland says. “We want to let families have a free night of fun and get more people involved in our programs at the NSC.”
The event will be capped off with a showing of “Wonder” on a big screen outdoors on Field E2. The movie will begin at 9 p.m. and free popcorn will be served.
