BLAINE, Minn. – (May 10, 2018) – The nationwide E. coli outbreak stemming from romaine lettuce has infected at least ten people in Minnesota.
The lettuce appears to trace back to the Yuma Arizona area, and CDC officials are recommending that you do not eat any romaine lettuce unless you can confirm it was grown outside of the Yuma area.
This advice applies to heart of romaine, chopped romaine, whole heads of romaine, and salad mixes. More than 140 people have fallen ill from this virus, with about half ending up in the hospital.
