ANOKA COUNTY – (Nov. 16, 2017) – The Anoka Hennepin school district is piloting a new app that will allow parents to track their students’ school buses on their phone. The app was developed by the First Student bus company used by the district.
Parents will be the only non-district employees able to track school buses and will only have access to buses transporting their own children. The district began testing the app last year with about 20 parents and will test it again with 10 more families over the next few weeks.
The hope is that the app will serve as a better communication tool, alerting parents of bus stop arrivals and delays. The district plans to launch the app after Thanksgiving.
