BLAINE – (March 31, 2021) – A new COVID-19 testing site has opened in the parking lot of the Blaine Town Shopping Center just off Highway 65.
You can drive up and get testing without even leaving your car. Registered nurses take a shallow swab in the nose, and results can be ready in as little as 20 minutes. GS Labs, based in Omaha, Nebraska, is operating two other similar test sites in the Twin Cities. The company says even though COVID vaccines are now open to more people, testing is still important to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
“Some places are still making it not mandatory, but recommended that you get a test to resume work, go to school or play youth sports, or any activity along those lines,” said site manager Ryan Guentzel of GS Labs. “At the same time we also know that not everyone is getting vaccinated right at this moment as well. So we still want to offer peace of mind that if they’re not vaccinated, they can still get tested here.”
The company says the goal is to make the tests convenient and readily available. They are open 7 days a week by appointment. You can go to: www.gslabstesting.com
Other locations in the Twin Cities include Eagan and Shakopee.
