ANOKA, Minn. – (Oct. 1, 2015) – The Anoka County Board has authorized a nearly 2.5 percent increase in the county property tax levy for 2016. This could mean a higher property tax bill, depending on home valuation and amounts levied by other jurisdictions on your tax bill.
The county board stated that many responsibilities have been shifting to the county system from the state system which has led to the need to increase the levy. The county levy was decreased in 2012, 2013 and 2014 before seeing a less than 1 percent increase in 2015. The county board has the ability to lower the levy amount before the end of the year. If the final amount remains unchanged the county levy amount will be $122.4 million.
