ANOKA COUNTY – (March 8, 2018) – Voters will see some new equipment when they head to the polls in 2018. No longer will you sign in to vote in the large voter roster books. Anoka County has been awarded a state grant to transition to an electronic voter roster.
All voters will not check in using an iPad. Same day voter registration will also be processed using the devices. This new equipment is expected to speed up the check in process. The new equipment will be used in all precincts in the county starting with the August primary election.
The total project cost for the electronic voter registration system is estimated at $317,101.08 with $237,825.81 coming from the state grant, the rest was included in the county budget for 2018.
