“It is the University of Minnesota and then the National Sports Center,” said Sara Soli the Chief Marketing Officer for the NSC. “There will be bowling at Bowlero here in Blaine as well.”
According to Soli five sports are going to be played at the NSC.
“We have flag football, soccer, softball, golf and pickleball,” Soli said.
Staging high profile events such as the Target USA Cup is the NSC’s trademark. The facility will definitely be ready for the Special Olympics.
“Energetic event”
Soli believes fans will flock to the NSC to see the games.
“They are expecting more than 3,000 athletes over both campuses,” Soli said. “Which is going to bring several thousand spectators here to Blaine…I think it’s just such an energetic event. Everyone there is happy. It’s really what sports about, it’s meant to bring joy to peoples lives.”
The sports center is going to roll out a welcome mat for everyone who shows up and there will be plenty of fun options.
“I think there’s going to be a great presence for fans,” Soli said. “If they want to come there’s an activity zone on field 58, food trucks, dance parties, vendors, so if you want to come check it out now would be the time.”
Athletes from all across the USA will be competing in the Special Olympics.
