(BLAINE) – Anoka County sheriff’s deputies and officers from multiple agencies are investigating the shooting deaths of a man and a woman inside a home in Blaine on Monday night that they believe was a murder-suicide.
According to a press release from the county, officers with Coon Rapids Police Department, Columbia Heights Police Department, Spring Lake Park Police Department, Fridley Police Department, Lino Lakes Police Department, Centennial Lakes Police Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol all responded to a home on 120th Avenue NE after 8:00 p.m. Monday. Officers heard at least two gunshots once they arrived, and they were able to get two children out of the home safely.
Deputies said officers were able to enter the home and once inside they found the bodies of a man and a woman who had been shot.
They are identified as 44-year-old Maksim Aleksandrovich Krechetov, age 44, and Yulia Khort, age 47, both of Blaine. Officers think Krechetov shot and killed Khort and then himself.
Investigators do not think there is any danger to anyone else in the community, nor do they believe there are any suspects on the loose.
Multiple agencies continue to investigate, along with the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
