ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. (August 11, 2013) – Former Anoka County Commissioner, Minnesota State Representative, and Spring Lake Park City Council member Paul McCarron died on August 11 at the age of 79.
McCarron was first elected in the late 1960’s to the Spring Lake Park City Council. Then McCarron served as a Democrat representative in St. Paul from 1973 until 1982. McCarron went on to serve 20 years on the Anoka County Board until he decided not to seek reelection in 2002.
McCarron was still active in public service serving as the Chair of the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment Authority until his death. McCarron was also a long time member of several Veterans organizations and civic groups.
