SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. – A pedestrian bridge in Spring Lake Park spanning Highway 65 is schedule to close June 14. The construction is part of the Spring Lake Park pedestrian bridge renewal project. The bridge, which spans Highway 65 at 80th Avenue NE, will undergo renovation and pedestrian accessibility upgrades.
Motorist will experience delays as both directions of Highway 65 between Osborne Road NE and 81st Avenue NE close at 10 p.m. Friday, June 14. Both directions of Highway 65 will re-open at 5 a.m. Monday, June 17.
The bridge will re-open to pedestrians by August 30. Motorist may bypass the closed segment by utilizing the posted detour of I-694 to I-35W. Residents who live near the work zone will hear construction noise overnight as crews update the bridge railing and prepare to install a new bridge deck.
