BLAINE, Minn. – On the evening of Tuesday, April 30, the Blaine Police Department received a call about an emotionally disturbed person with a gun. The call came from a neighborhood on 5th Street NE just west of the Westwood Intermediate and Middle School campus.
The individual reportedly fired at least one shot with a shotgun at the responding officers. Eyewitnesses reported that more than 15 squad cars responded to the call; no injuries occurred and the man was apprehended by law enforcement at the scene.
Police have indicated that this was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing danger to the community.
