ANDOVER, Minn. — This week the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault and robbery in Bunker Hills Park in Andover. The alleged victim was a 17-year-old female who had been walking on a path in the north end of the park.
She had been in the park with friends that afternoon, but the group of friends separated and went in different directions. She was checking her cell phone for text messages when she reported hearing someone running up behind her. She says that the suspect forcibly grabbed her and dragged her into the nearby woods. He told her not to scream or he would kill her. Once in the woods the suspect assaulted and robbed the girl and then ran off. There was no evidence of sexual assault.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his early 30’s, 6 feet tall, with a slender build, dark hair, and scruffy unshaven face. No distinguishing marks or tattoos were noted. He was wearing light colored cargo pants and a t-shirt, and no vehicle was seen.
