BLAINE, Minn. (August 15, 2013) — As part of an increased effort to collect unused prescription drugs, the Anoka County Sheriff’s office has placed a fourth prescription drug collection box in the county.
This one is located in the lobby of the Blaine Police Department which is located at Blaine City Hall. This is an extremely serious problem, with more than seven million Americans abusing prescription drugs and approximately 2,500 teens using prescription drugs every day to get high for the first time. Studies now show that the majority of teen prescription drug abuse is due to finding unused drugs in the home medicine cabinet.
The program is free and people can remain anonymous.
