BLAINE, Minn. – (July 14, 2016) – Project Backpack is a program available to Minnesota military children. This program prepares military children for their upcoming school year by providing them with the school supplies needed for a successful year.
Kindergarten to 12th grade children whose parents are currently deployed, recently returned, wounded, disabled or fallen are eligible to receive a backpack. Families need to fill out an application by July 21.
Local Beyond the Yellow Ribbon groups are encouraging everyone who is eligible to sign up for this program and are asking for help in spreading the word so all military families are aware of this opportunity.
