BLAINE, Minn. – (Oct. 27, 2016) – Would you like to share the magic of books with an Anoka County child who might not otherwise receive a book during the holidays? Anoka County Library will be accepting books as part of the annual Project Bookshelf. The donated books are distributed to children in need through Anoka County food shelves, including ACBC, CEAP, Centennial Community Food Shelf, and SACA.
“For over 25 years Project Bookshelf has supported Anoka County readers,” said Dan Greensweig, Library Board President. “Project Bookshelf gives families the opportunity to grow their home libraries so they can read together every day.” To participate, simply bring new, unwrapped books for children and young adults to any branch of Anoka County Library or Columbia Heights Public Library during the month of November.
“The magic of books is their ability to transport the reader to anywhere in the world, even Neverland, regardless of where the journey begins,” said Anoka County Commissioner and Library Board Liaison Mike Gamache. “Your donation can provide that journey to a child in need during the holidays.”
