LINO LAKES, Minn. – (Oct. 19, 2017) – On a Saturday afternoon in Lino Lakes, police officers and firefighters gathered with the public to have fun and learn.
“We’re displaying all of our equipment,” said Public Safety Director John Swenson. “We have our aerial engines, our tender, our squad cars.”
In addition to checking out the equipment, residents also got to see several resources in action.
“Our K-9 is here doing demonstrations, we’re doing an auto extrication demonstration, we have the aerial extended.”
“The public safety budget is about 50 percent of a city’s budget, and so we want people to understand what they are getting for their tax dollars.”
For Chief Swenson, events like this are a fun way to get the entire community involved.
“This is just one more opportunity to engage our community and we’re very fortunate to be able to do that.”
