(LINO LAKES) – On a night that city government in Lino Lakes was dramatically re-shaped, council member Rob Rafferty was elected mayor.
Rafferty finished well ahead of newcomer Tony Cavegn in the race to replace Mayor Jeff Reinert, who ran instead for the open seat in District Six on the Anoka County Board of Commissioners.
Rafferty’s spot on council will be open and whomever takes his place will join former council member Chris Lyden and newcomer Michael Ruhland who each won election to council, beating out a crowded field that included incumbents Melissa Maher and Michael Manthey, who were both seeking re-election to a second term.
