RAMSEY, Minn. – (June 18, 2015) – MnDOT recently commissioned a Highway Access Planning Study for the portion of U.S. Highway 10 that runs within the cities of Anoka and Ramsey. The study concluded that the state can achieve 90 percent of both the safety and operational benefits of a freeway, for less than 50 percent of the previous $300 million proposed cost, saving millions of taxpayer dollars.
This will be done by completing a series of 20 smaller projects that are designed to improve issues discovered during the study. These projects included local roadway and trail connections, access changes, reduced conflict intersections and grade separations at primary intersections.
