“We are getting support from private individuals that hear about us, from California to New York, and (companies like Alter) who have a long history and are interested in helping out veterans,” said Bart Ward with Haven for Heroes. “It’s just been absolutely amazing the support we get. I never know what’s going to happen when I pick the phone up.”
Until May 14, if customers at Alter mention Haven for Heroes, the company will match all proceeds as a donation.
“We see something worth helping or donating to–we’re all about that,” said Aaron Shuneson, the assistant facility manager in Anoka. “We think being involved in the community is a very important thing, especially when we can help out veterans. It’s a great cause, and we’re really excited about it.”
