(LINO LAKES) – Former Lino Lakes Mayor Jeff Reinert will take his seat on the Anoka County Board of Commissioners after his win over former Spring Lake Park Mayor Cindy Hansen in a special election February 11.
Reinert took 53% of the vote to Hansen’s 47%, with more than 2,000 votes (out of more than 30,000 registered voters in District Six) cast.
Reinert will finish what is left of Rhonda Sivarajah’s term after she was appointed Anoka County administrator last summer. That seat is up again in the fall.
Both Reinert and Hansen told North Metro TV in a debate televised in January that they intend to run again in November for the seat.
