CIRCLE PINES, Minn. – (May 16, 2019) – A retired high school theater director and speech coach received his school’s highest honor just a little more than a week before cancer claimed his life. Centennial High School inducted Mark Quinlan into its Hall of Fame at a special presentation on May 9.
The Centennial Hall of Fame honors alumni and individuals who have made a significant impact on Centennial Schools. In a forty-year career at the school, Quinlan directed hundreds of student productions on the stage and coached thousands to state and regional honors as members of the speech team.
He was also the announcer at football and basketball games for over 20 years.
Quinlan received many state honors, including induction into the Minnesota Thespian Hall of Fame this year.
A school district spokesperson confirmed Quinlan’s death on Friday, May 17.
