COON RAPIDS, Minn. – Just before 8pm on Saturday, January 12, a police officer was hit by an SUV on Highway 10. The Coon Rapids Community Service Officer was assisting a driver on Eastbound Highway 10 when she was hit by the passenger side mirror of the passing vehicle. The officer was knocked into her vehicle and then knocked to the ground.
The driver did not stop at the scene, and now law enforcement is looking for the driver. The vehicle is described as a dark colored SUV, possibly a Suburban or a Tahoe, but no description of the driver is available.
The Coon Rapids Crime Prevention Association has offered a 500 dollar rewards for anyone who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver. Anyone with information should call 763-323-5039.
