ANDOVER, Minn. – (April 3, 2018) – On Jan. 28, 2018 at 8:22 PM, Casey Kearns, a 36-year-old Andover resident was walking on the Round Lake Blvd service drive and he was struck by a vehicle just south of the G-Will Liquor store. Kearns was seriously injured, but the driver that struck him left the scene and remains unknown at this time.
The victim, Kearns, suffered multiple fractures, including every rib, both femurs in multiple places and internal injuries that required the placement of a temporary trach. He was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit for five weeks and has been hospitalized ever since. He will soon be transferred to a long-term care facility where he will be for up to another year.
No witnesses have come forward and the driver who fled the scene has not been identified. Kearns’ only recollection is that the vehicle that struck him was possibly a panel tuck, unknown color or description.
Kearns’ family is offering a $5,000.00 reward to anyone who comes forward with information leading to the arrest of the hit and run driver.
“We ask that anyone with any information on this case step up and do the right thing. We will continue our investigation, but hope that the driver will also choose to do the right thing before we find them. The victim, and the victim’s family, deserve to have resolution in this case,” said Anoka County Sheriff James Stuart.
