“Typically we do one or two streets in a typical year,” said city engineer Dan Schluender. “This is five areas, which is quite a bit larger.”
In addition to Tournament Players Parkway, there’s an upcoming project on Lever Street near Centennial High School, one on Jefferson Street, another on Clover Leaf Parkway, and one on Pheasant Ridge Parkway. And each one of them comes with their own scheduling details.
“There’s a lot of schedules,” said Schluender, citing the upcoming golf tournament, school calendar, the city’s parade, and the Blaine Festival as events they are working around.
The city is also working on creating a master plan for their road construction that will plan replacements for the next ten or more years. Blaine workers are currently rating every road in town, so they will be able to make a priority list for reconstruction projects.
