BRAINERD, Minn. – (June 23, 2016) – A school nurse in the Anoka-Hennepin school district is facing a felony charge for his actions in a boys bathroom.
Jeffrey Charles Gerdes, 28, was a school nurse this year at Mississippi Elementary in Coon Rapids and Lincoln Elementary in Anoka. Last weekend he was at a youth baseball tournament in Brainerd for boys 11 and under.
According the criminal complaint, Gerdes was observed following a boy into the bathroom “in such a way as to raise suspicion.” A parent followed him into the bathroom and noted that he was standing right next to the boy. The boy and Gerdes left the bathroom, and less than a minute later, Gerdes followed another boy into the bathroom.
Law enforcement was called and they determined that Gerdes has no ties to anyone playing on any of the baseball teams. He has been charged with one felony count of interfering with the privacy of a minor, one count of interfering with privacy, and one count of disorderly conduct.
Gerdes has been seen doing the same thing the week before at a different baseball tournament.
