BLAINE, Minn. – A Maplewood man is facing three second-degree assault charges in Anoka County after allegedly attacking his father and mother with a golf club.
Reports indicate that Francis Albert Campbell, 41, became upset after his father asked him to take the dog out. When Campbell’s father tried to discuss the issue with his son, Campbell began striking him with a golf club multiple times.
After Campbell’s father escaped to a nearby business, Campbell then turned on his mother and attacked her. She attempted to get away; however, Campbell caught her in the family’s yard and began hitting her in the face and head with the golf club. According to police reports, he put his fingers in his mother’s nostrils and attempted to rip her nose off.
Officers arrived as Campbell was attacking his mother. Campbell also spit on the transporting officer multiple times. If convicted, he could face up to 17 years in prison and $34,000 in fines.
