ANOKA, Minn. – (March 29, 2018) – Senator Tina Smith(DFL) visited with students and staff from Anoka-Hennepin schools this week. Smith made a visit to the Anoka-Hennepin Secondary Technical Education Program(STEP).
The STEP program is for 11th and 12th grade students and on the campus of Anoka-Technical College. The school has about 800 students enrolled each semester and students can earn high school and college credits.
While at STEP, Smith toured the school, spoke with students and participated in a panel discussion about barriers to offering the type of education that students receive at STEP. Anoka-Hennepin’s STEP school is the only school of its kind in Minnesota.
