BLAINE, Minn. – (May 3, 2018) – This week marked the 17th annual Senior Safety and Welless Fair. It’s a joint effort between the SBM Fire Department, Mary Ann Young Senior Center, Spring Lake Park Parks and Recreation, with a day of classes, seminars, and health checks. About 80 people attended the event. The topics they cover change every year, but there is always a focus on physical health.
“We’ve got nutrition, they we’ve got some wellness and pharmaceutical talks, and then this afternoon we have a yoga session,” said Shelley Johnson, the director of the Mary Ann Young Senior Center.
“I think it’s always good to learn,” said Johnson. “Whenever you can get information, that’s a good thing. We’re never too old to learn.”
