(BLAINE) – Several Anoka County communities have earned annual designation as Tree Cities USA, recognized for their efforts to conserve and manage forestry assets in their communities.
Blaine remains a Tree City USA, according to the Arbor Day Foundation. It is one of 111 Minnesota cities to earn the designation, meaning the city dedicates resources and staff to manage conservation. Other Anoka County communities include Andover, Fridley, and Ramsey.
Lino Lakes is among those cities that earned Tree City Growth Awards, meaning it had made strides toward full Tree City USA status by showing its done more to conserve and manage trees.
Arbor Day is Friday, April 30.
