SPRING LAKE PARK – In Spring Lake Park, officials are hoping to reduce commercial truck traffic on a section of 81st Avenue.
The city says over the years, 81st avenue between University and Highway 65 has become an easy shortcut for commercial trucks. The city says reducing truck traffic there would improve public safety along the route and help the character of the residential neighborhood.
The city has imposed a five ton weight restriction, posted new signs, and asked MnDOT for help.
Trash and delivery trucks would still be allowed.
