SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. – (Aug. 31, 2017) – As the school year is getting ready to begin, Spring Lake Park Schools is getting ready to name their new elementary school. The school is being built on land that was previously a part of National Sports Center.
The school district asked for name suggestions earlier this year, and after receiving more than 200 ideas, they have narrowed it down to five possible names.
They have an online survey, asking students, parents, staff and community members to vote on the following options:
- Centerview Elementary
- Center Park Elementary
- Center Fields Elementary
- Greenview Elementary
- Horizon View Elementary
The survey will be available online through Sept. 15. The results of the survey will be shared with the school board at a Sept. 26 work session, and the name of the new school will be announced at the board’s Oct. 3 meeting.
