LEXINGTON, Minn. – (Oct. 31, 2018) – State numbers show north metro communities who have city-controlled liquor sales continue to make money despite their population.
According to figures for 2017 from the state auditor, the city of Lexington had the second-best sales among cities in Anoka county behind the city of Anoka. Lexington, with a population of only 2,100 was still in the top 40 in sales for the state and had a net profit of more than 158 thousand dollars for the year.
Of the cities that made more profit than Lexington, only one, Stacy, is home to fewer people. You can view more information about the state audit online.
