According to posts on NextDoor, the noise late at night is disruptive, particularly in the areas between Highway 96 and Forest Lake on 35E.
“Even with my windows closed and the AC on I was awoke yesterday at 1230 AM and last Saturday about 1: AM (sic),” wrote one poster from the Quad Area NextDoor group.
“It does not belong on our roads where it endangers others,” wrote another NextDoor user from Hugo on March 20.
The Minnesota State Patrol knows about the complaints and investigates it as best it can.
“It is something we take very seriously,” said Lt. Gordon Shank. “Speeding, and those decisions people make when they do things such as racing add even a more dangerous factor to driving on roadways.”
Lt. Shank said he responds directly to many of the complaints, and he urges anyone who calls to try to get more information so officers can better follow-up with those responsible.
“When we get people to call things in, if they can get that license plate, that’s huge for us,” he said.
