BLAINE, Minn. – (Dec. 7, 2017) – A 23-acre solar garden was proposed by Connexus Energy at Blaine’s City Council meeting this week. The proposed site near the National Sports Center is on a closed landfill and would have about 14,000 solar panels.
Connexus currently has a solar garden on its Ramsey property that is nearly an acre in size. In addition to the Blaine site, Connexus is also proposing a solar garden in St. Francis and a larger one in Ramsey.
If all three solar gardens are built, they will be able to power 1,700 homes exclusively with solar power.
