(SPRING LAKE PARK) – Spring Lake Park City Council at its July 15 meeting named Councilman Bob Nelson as mayor until a special election in 2020 following the abrupt resignation earlier this month of Former Mayor Cindy Hansen.
Hansen resigned because her family moved out of the city limits.
Council voted to name Nelson as mayor, and he is qualified to run in the special election on November 3, 2020. He also resigned his council seat.
Soon, Spring Lake Park residents will be able to apply for the open council seat, and council members will select the new member from that pool.
