SPRING LAKE PARK – City leaders have declared a moratorium on converting properties to rentals for at least six months. City administrator Dan Buchholtz said the council had received complaints from people who live on Pierce Street, among other neighborhoods, about the number of rental homes.
“It’s been something a lot of neighbors and people I’ve talked to over the years (have asked about),” said Spring Lake Park Mayor Bob Nelson. “And, over the years, some questions have come up in the neighborhood and we heard some people talking about this and that and other things, with new developments, so I think it’s time for the study.”
City leaders will study the issue before making any more decisions.
