(SPRING LAKE PARK) – Mayor Cindy Hansen resigned at Monday night’s city council meeting, effective immediately.
Reading from a prepared statement, Hansen said she and her family had decided to relocate away from the small town in southern Anoka County.
She made her resignation official as of midnight on Monday.
Hansen won re-election in 2018 in a hotly-contested race with Councilwoman Barbara Goodboe-Bisschoff. Hansen was in her ninth year as mayor.
