ANDOVER, Minn. – (April 16, 2015) – A wild police chase led by a burglary suspect rushed up Highway 65 and Bunker Lake Blvd and over to Hanson Blvd.
Police had attempt to pull over Randy Thomas Vaught as a suspect in a burglary in Blaine, but instead of stopping his car, he fled, hitting five police cars and two other cars along the way – including one car with a mother and her infant child.
Vaught was driving in all lanes of traffic and crossing the median on Hanson Blvd when he hit a Blaine squad car head on. Anoka County Sheriff squads attempted PIT maneuvers, and eventually were able to take Vaught into custody.
Three people went to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crashes, and all of them have been released. Vaught is waiting formal charges.
