ST. PAUL – The Governor’s office recently joined state DNR officials to mark ten years of the state’s “I Can” outdoors programs at state parks. Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan was a part of an event that celebrated the series that seeks to help people get out to enjoy Minnesota state parks.
“The ‘I Can’ program really aims to get more people outdoors,” said Flanagan. “Helping them learn how to pitch a tent, build a fire, go fishing, and really build a lifetime of fun outside.”
State leaders say the “I Can” programs have helped introduce more than 80,000 people to activities outdoors they had not tried before.
