BLAINE, Minn. – Summer Food Fest attracted hundreds once again this year. With over 500 people in attendance, this community event had activities for every member of the family.
Summer Food Fest features activities such as music, inflatables, face paint, kids’ games, clowns, and crazy hair.
However, the real draw is the food. From Mexican to Asian, and from ice cream to sandwiches, there is an array of different types of food for people to try.
Lori Higgins, president of the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce, said, “It’s a place where people pay one ticket price to get in and then they get unlimited samples.”
Aside from being a fun event for families, Summer Food Fest also benefits the community. It is organized by the MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce and raises funds and awareness for three nonprofit organizations including the Chamber, Free2B, and Toys for Joy. “The primary focus of this event is to raise funds and awareness of those three organizations.”
Free2B donated a car to a family in need of transportation at the end of Summer Food Fest. Toys for Joy received a few dozen donations of toys for children this Christmas. The Metro North Chamber firmly believes in supporting the community by getting involved within it. “Our tagline is building business, building relationships, and building community. And we believe in that quite extensively.”
Summer Food Fest is a way for people in the area to come and meet each other while having a good time and supporting a good cause.
