CIRCLE PINES, Minn. – (March 16, 2017) – An alert neighbor saw suspicious behavior near his Circle Pines home and quickly phoned police. Responding officers found Shawn Museus near a wooded area and quickly detained him.
A search of the area found a garage had been broken into and items stolen. According to the criminal complaint, a garage door opener for the victims garage was found in the woods near where Museus was detained. The victim reported that he had left his truck unlocked and the opener was missing.
Officers later connected Museus to a separate car break-in in Blaine in which more than one thousand dollars worth of property was reported stolen. Museus has been previously convicted of burglary.
In this case he has been charged with two felony counts including burglary in the first degree.
Police want to remind the public to always lock their doors and secure there garages. Burglars always look for the easiest target when working a neighborhood.
