WASHINGTON D.C. – (March 16, 2017) – The Internal Revenue Service says that unclaimed federal income tax refunds totaling more than $1 billion may be waiting for the 1 million taxpayers who did not file a 2013 federal income tax return.
More than 15,000 Minnesota taxpayers are on this list, and they have more than $14 million in refunds waiting for them. But, there is still time for these people to get their refund.
To collect the money, taxpayers must file a 2013 tax return with the IRS no later than this year’s tax deadline, Tuesday, April 18.
