Tom Newland
BLAINE – (May 5, 2022) – The Blaine City Council announce this week that Tom Newland will be joining the council. Council received seven applications from residents to fill the opening that former council member Jason Smith left behind. Upon review, council chose Newland to fill the remainder of Smith’s term, which lasts through the end of the year.
Newland ran for this seat unsuccessfully in 2020. He previously served on the SBM Fire Department board, and the Blaine Park board.
He will officially join council at its next meeting on May 16.
