“That’s our biggest focus,” said Jazeya Kalis from Spire Credit Union in Blaine. “Being able to give back to our community is our biggest pleasure.”
At Spire, there is a toy story going on that benefits less fortunate members of the North Metro. Spire is teaming up with the Salvation Army to collect Christmas gifts for kids. The toy drop-off began on December 2 and goes through December 10.
Said Kalis: “Spire is very committed to improving the lives of our members and the communities and our members’ children. We partner with Salvation Army for stuff the sleigh and we’ve been doing that for a number of years. Our main goal is to be able to provide toys for children.”
GIVING BACK
Spire has conducted a toy drive for many years now. According to Kalis, there has been plenty of giving from the community this holiday season.
“So far, so good,” Kalis said. “We’ve had a number of members come in throughout the week. They bring piles of toys and hopefully this makes a difference for some of the kids in the community.”
Kalis and her co-workers are just happy that some less fortunate kids are going to receive toys this holiday season. Occasionally they even get some positive feedback about their efforts.
“They just loved that we were able to participate in the community and give back,” Kalis said. “They were thankful to have a location to be able to drop off.”
There is also a Salvation Army ring the bell bucket at Spire. For more info on how to donate toys go to myspire.com
