BLAINE, Minn. – (June 9, 2016) – As a part of TPC Restaurant Week from June 20 – June 26 the TPC of the Twin Cities will donate a portion of their profits to Feeding America. Feeding America is a network of local food banks across the country that can leverage donations to feed those in need.
“Every dollar raised provides ten meals to those in need,” said TPC Twin Cities Executive Chef John Van House.
Each TPC Club will participate by crafting a special menu for their location. A lunch and dinner menu will be created with different options for club members to enjoy. In one week the network of clubs plans to take a big bite out of hunger.
While the TPC is a private club they still see themselves as an important part of the community.
“Even though we’re a private membership that does not mean we are not fixtures in the community. Our club and the development of this location in general, Blaine, it goes hand in hand with everything going on around us. The National Sports Center, the airport, the local restaurants, the Lakes development over here, without the community at large we wouldn’t have a club here so we need to make sure it’s known that we are thankful for that and we are doing everything within our power to make sure that we are making a difference. Not just for our membership, not just for their families and friends, but for those people that we don’t know and that we don’t see because we are capable to do it, therefore we ought to,” said Van House.
Making a difference fits with the overall values of the club and the PGA Tour. “One of our core values with the PGA Tour and TPC network is charity along with community so as a result we’ve really tried to spearhead initiatives to help our struggling local families,” said Van House.
