ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. – (Nov. 12, 2015) – As the weather keeps getting colder and we start preparing for snowfall, MnDOT is reminding drivers about basic winter driving safety. If it’s snowing make sure to turn on your headlights. Pay attention to the road, buckle up and don’t drive with your cruise control during the winter months. Snowplows will also be out on the roads, and you should stay behind the snowplow where the roads are safer, and slow down, leaving at least five car lengths between you and the snowplow. Plows can turn or exit frequently, often with little warning. You can always call 511 or visit 511mn.org to get information on road condition before leaving your house.
