BLAINE, Minn. – (June 4, 2015) – A Blaine woman is in jail and a man is dead after a domestic disturbance ends in a stabbing. Police were called to an apartment building at 8650 Davenport St. in Blaine this week. When they arrived they found a man on the kitchen floor with two apparent stab wounds.
The man, Gregory Stewart, had no pulse and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the criminal complaint Artiesha Love(pictured) initially told police that her boyfriend came home drunk with blood on his shirt and then fainted in the kitchen. After further questioning Love told police that her relationship with her boyfriend was abusive and he came home drunk and hit her in the face knocking out a tooth.
She admitted to police that she then grab a knife and stabbed him twice in the chest. Love then called her brother and mother, and had her daughter clean up the blood and get rid of the knife before calling 911.
Love has been charged with First Degree Manslaughter and remains in the Anoka County Jail.
