BLAINE, Minn. – (March 29, 2018) – The MetroNorth Chamber of Commerce is an active business organization connecting and advocating for businesses in the north metro area. One committee that continues to grow their meetings is called Working with Women.
Once a month, about 60 to 70 people gather for Working with Women. The group aims to provide connections, support and resources to business professionals in the area.
“Working with Women has been such a life saver for my life and my business,” said Tracy David a Working With Women committee member.
“Working with Women was actually formed back in 2010 by a few chamber members who came to me and said ‘we love the chamber, it is a great place to grow our business, but we just want a space where we go and it is not about selling it is about really building relationships’,” said MetroNorth Chamber President Lori Higgins.

Everyone in attendance gets to say a few words about themselves and their business, and also hear from dozens of other people in the area looking to connect and form better business relationships.
“It was instrumental in thriving my business,” said David.
“It has been a wonderful addition to the chamber’s programming,” said Higgins.
After the introductions, a few businesses or organizations are highlighted for the work they are doing. Then, each month there is a new topic ranging from marketing to work/life balance to how to own a business while being a mom.
The group continues to see, as they have since the beginning, that focusing on the relational side of business definitely has a place in the chamber.
“I think it is an important branch…you get the opportunity to come and be yourself…while still building your business,” said David.
