BLAINE, Minn. – (Oct. 5, 2017) – There’s a new service that allows you to see your mail before you receive it. The United States Postal Service has a free program called Informed Delivery.
The program gives residential consumers the ability to digitally preview their letter-sized mail pieces and manage their packages scheduled to arrive soon. As a part of automating the sorting and delivery of mail, digital images the front of letter-sized mail pieces are captured as they run through automation equipment.
USPS is now using those images to provide digital notifications to users in advance of the delivery of physical mail. You can sign up for the service here.
